Bernie, it's really too bad this was your first experience with it. Obviously part of a beta is that we're trying to figure out the bugs and where problems lie, and with having the large influx of new users, it's taught us a lot of things thus far. On occasion, the service may run into hiccups, but rest assured, we're on it and understand the issues.
Thanks
Thanks for dropping by, Matt. I was actually kind of hoping you guys at the site wouldn't find my post, because it comes off as more negative than it should. Shortly after I took the screenshot above, the site started working and I actually liked some of the things I saw in the interface. If I get more time to play around with it, I'll likely blog about my second impressions (I'm known to do those types of things). Keep up the good work and best of luck with the big influx of users.
Ian, your comment about being social made me laugh. I've been realizing over the past few nights that one of the reasons sites like Twitter don't work quite as well for me as they do for others in the blogosphere is that I don't have a whole lot of friends to begin with, let alone friends that are geeky enough to use Twitter ;)
Oh, just hang out on MySpace for a day. You'll get all kinds of "friends," though they may or may not use Twitter... and you might have seizures after visiting their pages.... I debated using Twitter myself, but I thought it would be one of those things I used heavily for a couple of weeks and then let die.

For some reason the giant "socialthing" banner at the top of the contact page goes to their blog rather than their homepage. Their blog reports that they were "TechCrunched," so their servers are probably being thrashed. Besides, don't you know that computer users aren't supposed to be social? ;)
