I've been pretty tight-lipped (can you be tight-blogged?) about this in general up until now, but there was a main reason I took the day off from work today, and it wasn't golf. For those who didn't have the advantage of insider knowledge to decipher the meaning of my post back in May about hearing a "squishy sound," that sound was the sound of a heartbeat.

Today, my wife, my mother-in-law and I went to the hospital so that my wife could have an ultrasound. We saw a very active, seemingly healthy baby from just about every angle possible and it was definitely one of those experiences I know I'll never forget.

To get right down to the gist of it, my wife and I are expecting. Our baby is due on the 5th of December, and according to the very knowledgeable and informative woman who administered the ultrasound today, our baby is a girl.
