I guess it's about time I phoned home. This blog (among others) has been pretty desolate lately.

Last week I played a round of golf and shot a 118 (ouch!). I had a good time, though, and can now add a new course to the list of courses I've played.

Following back-to-back visits to the dentist for cleanings the week before last, I came back in to deal with decaying molars last week. The decay in the first of the two was so deep that the dentist recommended breaking up the work into two separate visits. The second visit happened yesterday, and the molar that, on the x-ray, didn't appear to be as deep, ended up being deep enough to expose the nerve. Therefore, with my mouth thoroughly numbed, I was feeling that shocking pain you tend to feel when nerves are involved as the dentist was trying to fill the tooth. Because me feeling pain wasn't part of the plan, he gave me more novacaine and then proceeded to patch my tooth up in preparation for yet another visit. That visit happens tomorrow afternoon, when I'll end up having the root canal I was hoping to avoid.

On a much lighter note, the Saturday before last my wife and I went to see a matinee showing of The Dark Knight and were thoroughly entertained. I'm very much looking forward to it showing up in 720p online in the coming months.

I also heard very good things from my brother (ironically enough) about Step Brothers, so I'll have to try and go see that when I get a chance.

On the smaller screen, the beginning of the second season of Mad Men was exceptional, just as I expected it to be, and I'm anxiously awaiting episode 2 (again, in 720p of course).
