Phoenix Zoo Foliage Last year, my wife and I took a trip down to Arizona to visit the bulk of her family, and we had a great time. The week before last, with a new addition in the family, we took the trip down south yet again so everyone could spend some time with the baby.

The weather wasn't quite as hot as I hoped it would be, especially given the bizarre weather in Seattle lately, but it was still very nice. Visiting with family was fun, as usual, and it was really refreshing for me to get to spend the bulk of every day with my daughter, as opposed to the evenings-only agenda I face on most weekdays due to work. It allowed me to see more clearly just how much she changes on a day-to-day basis.

The trip coincided with quite a few family birthdays, so that made things fun, and we managed to take a trip to the Phoenix Zoo and the Children's Museum of Phoenix with Heidi and her cousin, Luke, as well.

The only unfortunate part of the trip was me coming down with a cold (which I'm still trying to kick) toward the end, just like I did last year, but luckily neither my wife nor my daughter have come down with it.

Since we're developing a pattern on par with Snowbirds, here's to another post on the subject next winter (hopefully illness-free).
