Now that the latest seasons of Mad Men and Game of Thrones have concluded, I'm only left with The Daily Show and The Newsroom to keep me entertained until Big Brother (yes, I'm serious) and Breaking Bad start up again. To help fill the void, I've started watching Friday Night Lights.

I've only watched the first nine episodes from the first season so far, but I'm definitely hooked. So far it's got many great, multidimensional characters and it certainly doesn't hurt that it's all centered around football. As if that wasn't enough, the theme song is (performed) by Explosions in the Sky, the third episode featured Pearl Jam's "Come Down" and the pilot slyly included Beck's "Debra" (!).

Only four-and-a-half seasons to go!
