There is an interesting article at MozillaNews today about the future of AOL, Netscape, Gecko and Mozilla. There are points I am happy to read, like:

Another project forming is Apollo. It's unrelated to this year's releases, but shows a significant amount of dedication from AOL into Gecko's future, both the current codebase, and what is tentatively known as Gecko 2.0.

And then there are those I could care less about:

I for one, am rooting for AOL.

Forgive me, but I hate AOL. I also hate Netscape. So when I read the comments full of people praising AOL and its "comeback" it almost made me sick. The Mozilla news is good news, though, so I am happy about that. Especially if they are planning on re-writing Gecko for v2.0. Maybe it will speed up the app and lead to even more standards compliance. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
