After having, for the most part, eradicated the comment spam problem I had on this site, I have now been faced with the challenge of turning away referral spammers. If you've been visiting my site for a while, you'll remember that I used to link to the last few referrers in my sidebar. I don't do that anymore, but the referral spammers don't really care. They hit my site very frequently, and this month it's gotten to the point that they have overtaken all other referrers for the top 10 positions.

Even though they aren't getting anything out of their actions, it's still uber-annoying and I hate knowing they're sucking up bandwidth for no real purpose. Luckily enough, there is plenty of coverage on the Web about blocking these nuggets, so adding a few extra RewriteRules to my already existing ones was a piece of cake.
