Kinda like the real Yoda's transformation from puppet to CGI, my Yoda got an upgrade today. My tried and true Gateway G6-350 is still chugging along after 7 years, and now has an 80 GB hard drive instead of its original 10 GB one.

After replacing the old drive, installing Redhat Linux 9 was a snap as usual, but I have to give a shout out to Rick Nicholas, the author of Installiing Apache, MySQL, and PHP on Linux for making that process a snap as well. I followed his instructions word for word, and now have Apache2, MySQL4 and PHP4 up and running on good ol' "Yoda."

Here's to another 7 years.

If you have some time to burn, you might want to try out lighttpd [ ].

Thanks, nordsieck. I've added it to my B-Sides so I don't forget about it. It looks very promising.

No problem ;)
