The discussion forum over at my Coldplay site was hacked yesterday. When I paid a visit, I saw "Hacked by KavaLye Turkish Hacker" all over the place. According to Google, I'm not the only one either.
Unfortunately, as is the nature of such problems, when you Google for a solution you just find more evidence of the problem. I did a little investigation of my own and found that three of my phpBB database tables had been hacked: forums, categories, and config. Luckily, because I like to learn from other peoples' mistakes, I had a recent database backup to reference, and was able to restore all the correct table values fairly quickly.
After getting my database back in shape, I quickly headed over to the phpBB site to get the latest version of my forum software. It turns out I was about 9 point versions behind the latest release – not anymore.
The moral of the story? Turkish hackers are nuggets.
Oh, and remember to backup your databases.

My PHPbb forums were also hacked. I was running 2.0.9. My hacker was by the name "Romance and Kaan". I believe it was only one, based on my analysis of the access logs. Furthermore, I learned that he was discussing it in a turkish forum:

Attempts to translate this page have failed. So far I know he used Netscape 4.0 and Windows XP.
I restored my database from the previous day and got hacked again by the same guy. I updated the forum software and got hacked again. Eventually I gave up and left him a nice note where the forums used to be: http://www.damnednice.com/phpbb

Gotta love it when little script kiddies start claiming that they are "1337 f0r31gn haX0r5" when they google how to gain access to something like a forum, pointlessly vandalise it just because they can and then claim to be part of some crazy organisation. Makes me laugh...I'll admit i used to be a bit of a "1337 h4X0r" in my youth but never anything malicious just claming I had crazy mental powers over msn and then opening their CD drives and stuff.

Although there are some leathal Kurdish Hacker Groups out there, and recently they have been very very active. Ataturk.com has been hacked before by Kurds, Ataturk.net has been hacked before by Kurds... When will the Turks learn?? You cannot and will not out smart Kurds. And the only reason why they dont have independance, because Kurds has more courage to fight the colonisation than Turks, so what britian said was, Kurds are fighters and dangerous let them not be free...
