While reading Hawk News Daily tonight I came across an article in the Seattle Post Intelligencer titled "Seahawks safety seriously injured outside nightclub." The article, which fortunately gets better the further you get into it, can be summed up by the first paragraph:

Seahawks safety Ken Hamlin was in intensive care at Harborview Medical Center Monday with a skull fracture, broken hand and blood clot, the result of some kind of altercation outside a Seattle nightclub.

Ken Hamlin, or "The Hammer," as Seahawks fans affectionately know him, is a pugnacious player with an unparalleled knack for making tackles that make even home fans cringe. He has taken on a leadership role on the Seahawks and has been an inspiration to the rest of the defensive unit, if not the whole team.

My thoughts go out to Kenny and his family. Hopefully his recovery will be indicative of the quickness with which he attacks the football.
