I have to give props to David Hyatt. I can hardly say I know the guy or even what he's all about, but I read his Safari blog from time to time and I can tell he gets a kick out of what he does, not to mention that he seems to be pretty darn good at it, too. Not only has the guy been slaving away on Apple's Safari browser, adding standards support and a whole slew of other goodies, but he's also obviously left his mark on the Mozilla project, which is far and away my favorite open source project underway.

I also have to give him props for the way he handles the hords of selfish browsers (I'm talking people here, not web-surfing tools) who have clogged his blog comments with complaints about page renderings and lacking compliance. Today he announced that he is turning off commenting altogether because he's tired of that shiznit. I don't blame him. When it's all said and done, anyone who has any respect for the web, standards, and the people who do things to make the web a better place should tip their hat to David and his work.
