As promised, here I am blogging about CES 2006. Also, as guessed, I am late because I didn't have any time for blogging when I was down in Vegas.

Even though I didn't have a whole lot of time to cruise the show floor this year (most of my time was spent in the South Hall), I have to say I was pretty underwhelmed by what was on display. I've never been very excited about CES in the past though, so I'm not all that surprised.

Unlike most geeks, at CES I don't go around oohing and ahhing over wireless mice, cell phones or Bluetooth doo-dads. Instead, I wander the floor looking for Murcielagos, Spyders Modenas, hoo-rides and other crazy automobiles (like the ones with waterfalls in the trunk).

The so-called booth babes don't really do it for me either, but the people standing in line waiting for their autograph are pretty entertaining, and they do come in handy when you're looking for a souveneir to bring home to your co-workers ;)

I definitely spent more time in my hotel room fighting with the (eleven-dollar-a-night) wireless and partaking in conference calls than anything else, though. At least my room had a decent view.

okay well I've changed my mind just a bit after seeing Robert Scoble's site this morning. Along with the black muscle car, I would also like to get my hands on one of these:

I have to admit, Janine, that SkyScout looks pretty sweet!
