I remember I worked with a guy a couple years back that, rather than entering URIs in the address bar of his browser, would actually enter them in Google's search field, and then click the first link returned in the search results.

After monitoring my incoming traffic for the last couple of weeks, I finally noticed tonight that a Google search for www.youtube.com returns a link to my blog entry, Embedding YouTube Videos as Valid XHTML 1.0, on the first page of results.

That probably explains why that particular post is the most popular post on this site since early 2005, averaging about 1,000 views a month at this point. It's encouraging to know that so many people out there are interested in sharing YouTube videos via standards-compliant code. At the same time, it's a little bit discouraging to know there are so many people out there that type their URIs into Google!
